West Ham is filling the pages of czech newspapers since Soucek and Coufal joined us. Every match is thoroughly reported and even analyzed...rumours are circulating. Fresh tittle-tattle says we are in for Alex Kral, ex-Slavia player, with Spartak Moscow nowadays. It’s both good and bad news, the guy’s really good and still young player, the bad side of the story is that he plays in Decs position. I wonder if Soucek wasn’t hired for new invented player-scout job.

I remember going to Prague years ago when Repka was playing for us. Went into the Sparta club shop to have a look around. Fuck me, it made our old portacabin club shop look state of the art. Cracking city and bars.

They should do a pre-season in the Czech Republic. I've only been to Prague, but I've been 3 times and really like it.

I think that the Czech's seem to have the right mentality and didn't need much of this "settling in" bollocks like the South American's seem to need.
I remember John Lyall liking to have a few Scots in the team for that bit of extra "steel". Obviously a few paid off like McAvennie, Stewart and Orr.

1200 miles is not near enough for vodka I’m afraid. Czechs are not fond of Russia really. Once someone roams your driveway on a tank, you tend to dislike him.

Well, yeah...Czech republic is more of a lager/wine country. Vodka is as popular as in the UK in CZE. When it comes to spirits, they have their home-made plum brandy (much stronger than vodka too).
